According to the Public Relations and Information Center, this piece of Iranian hand-woven carpet woven by Hossein Pourali, an artist from Tabriz, was presented to the President of FIFA on Monday, November 21, 2022, in a ceremony by the Minister of Sports and Youth.In this ceremony, which was also attended by Mehdi Taj, the president of our country's football federation, Hamid Sajjadi, the minister of sports and youth, presented a piece of Iranian carpet decorated with the image of the president of the world football federation to FIFA president Infantino.
This Iranian carpet was woven in the city of Sardroud, East Azarbaijan Province, which is the carpet capital of the world, and it took 40 days to weave this beautiful hand-woven carpet .This carpet is woven under the supervision of the Deputy Handicrafts Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts and its dimensions are 70 x 50 square centimeters.
The material of this carpet is silk fluff and silk and it is woven in 55 rows and 150 colors with Turkish knot technique including 192 thousand 500 knots.This carpet was presented to the president of FIFA with the aim of introducing Iranian traditional arts, including the art of Iranian carpet weaving.
The 22nd World Cup tournament officially started in Qatar on November 20, 2022.  Iran's national football team is in the same group with England, America and Wales in this period.
