TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The spokesperson for the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization (CAO) on Tuesday announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Iran and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the field of cooperation of air transportation.

Jafar Yazarloo stated that Iran’s CAO and General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of UAE signed the MoU on maintaining air transportation cooperation.

Given the volume of trade and tourism exchanges between Iran and the UAE, and after years of updating the MoU between the two countries that had been signed in 2015, the two sides emphasized the need for increasing bilateral cooperation in the relevant field, Yazarloo said.

A new memorandum of understanding was signed between the two sides, after holding expert-level meetings on increasing flights between the two countries, developing the foreign flight network, and increasing flights through Iran as well as the necessary arrangements for signing the air transport agreement, he stated.

The representatives of the airline companies of the United Arab Emirates including Fly Dubai and Al-Ittihad also attended the meeting, the spokesman noted.
